Ooh ... ooh!!! What a lekka day!!! The Poker Run started a bit differently this year for the Squarrows and "friends of Squarrows". Garrett was so kind enough to arrange a PRE-POKER RUN breakfast at the Nest!!! Thanks G!!! Lekka bacon and eggs, with ice cold beers and other left overs was the order of the morning. Thanks Bubba for transporting the after-party refreshments!
Once the chow (with extra slaap derm spice) almost settled, we were on our way to ... ja. We were late for the start of the run, but proceeded to Eagles Nest, for directions to the first stop.
We eventually made our way to Hells Angels Clubhouse and Pub in Brooklyn. When we pulled up, we thought we were heading into a huis jol, but were we mistaken. A private residence was turned into a quite interesting Clubhouse, with klomp HELLS ANGELS memorabilia. Alley McBeal toilets were on the menu, which made for interesting toilet time. This year, the stops were much longer, which meant more time for socializing and drinking.
GRAPES!!!!
A moerse klomp bikers then proceeded to House of Wicked & Wild. Now this place I fell in love with. Why you ask?
R15 for a double Red Heart Rum and Coke ... THAT'S WHY!!! Because of this, I missed the action outside (STOPPIES and burnouts and Police). A while later, this HUGE bunch of bikers proceeded to HOOLIGANS clubhouse ... in Brackenfell (I think). One very lekka ride, all bikes in a bunch, and what a ride!!!! Everyone rode hard, fast, and most importantly ... safe! At the clubhouse, wine was cheap, music was loud, and the smell of rubber in the air. El Presidente did one of his extremely stylish "SLOW BURNS" [See video]. The day started getting long ... and while later, we missioned off to Eagles Nest, where things were a bit different to what was experienced earlier in the day. Not everyone pitched up ... and we didn't stay much longer either. The ride to the Southern Suburbs was hectic ...
Very windy ... lots of irritating cars ... but we finally made it (some of us) to Uncle Buck for the "after party". Jason and I weren't there for long when we had to leave to assist Supie with a broken valve on his rear wheel stuck on the M5. A HUGE THANK YOU TO BRIAN (Bassie) for the use of the Microbus and trailer to get Supie home. A looong day eventually came to an end ...
