What a lekker day ...

All started by meeting @ Squarrows Nest for nice cold “long one” and some old-stock of troubles (brandy-wine). We proceeded in convoy (nice) to collect our New Zealand visitor and kidnap her for the day. 'Jarre, dit was lekker om die gurl Crystal te sien!' Knees all intact!!!

The PREZ led us to Ottery to attend the White Line Riders’ fundraiser at D’s Jazz Café. A nice big turnout. Cars, bikes, bikini girls, muscle men and dancers of all shapes and sizes. Check here ... these girls actually washed the cars and bikes with soap and lappies and what what ... all keeping their clothes on (for a change). They even washed the inside of Darron’s motor, cause the boney didn’t wanna start.

Some dancers did some demonstrations of salsa, jazz, hip hop ... sorry Paullie. No long-arm, no blues numbers.

Pimped out cars paraded most of the day with some really fine restored classics. The one’s that stood out for me were the Canary yellow Left-hand-drive Ford Cortina and of course ... the 4 door MKI Ford Escort (Ja okay ... I’m biased. NOG FORD!!!!!!). Not even Iian with his sweater (FEELING HORNY ALAN) and his SLK impressed me. VUKA’s made the geraas ... with scooters and little bikeys doing two man burnouts. (All of them needed a BRA in front to stop the bike from sliding forward)

Food was cheap and lekka, the bar prices @ D’s Jazz café were competitively priced (no moering of your pocket … to a certain extent). Quite a big crowd joined in what turned out to be a well supported family event. Also nice to see such a lot of SQUARROWS in one place at the same time.

Another big surprise was MR & MRS LEIGH ... on the recently acquired K7 – BUSA. Congrats!!! Just hope Brandon doesn’t decide to go luminous-shocking-KAWA green or orange, coz I don’t remember this brother ever keeping a bike with the original colours. Only time will tell.

Prize giving ... well ... SQUARROWS took 7 or 8 prizes, including the main prize of an AMA Helmut (Shot Supie) sponsored by VUKA Claremont and a couple of RED HEART goodies, sponsored by RED HEART themselves. As far as I know, there was no smokkeling with Chesnay ... si ... si ... si!

Thank you WHITE LINE RIDERS for a very well organized event. Hope you guys made shit loads of moola for St. Vincent De Paul. Looking forward to your next event.

Need to mention the following: One of the SQUARROWS members unfortunately lost his wallet which had everything in it; Credit cards, ATM cards, retail cards, DRIVERS LICENCE!!!! After searching for hours, trying to locate it ... nothing.

Monday mid-morning ... he gets a phone call. A dude by the name of SHAHEEN that works at Ottery Hypermarket picked up the wallet, and with lots of effort, located the owner.

SHAHEEN, if you do manage to read this ... we salute you for ... as Bubba put it ... “It kind of restores ones faith in mankind”
